COR-TEN has served as weathering steel(atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel).it will develop a beautifully brown layer of rust when exposed to the weather.The weathering rust actually performs as a protective coating providing greater resistance to corrosion compared to other steels. It will be almost fully rusted when it arrives but will take another 2-4 months to completely cure.
This handcrafted outdoor fire pit is constructed entirely of 3mm Cor-Ten steel. The fire pit is designed for wood burning or using lava rock.
A steel fire pit cover that lays over the pit opening is also available.
